The purpose of this podcast series is to discuss some of the biggest issues in the world we live in and issues that we may face over the next decade. We are not here to solve those issues, just to bring them into focus.
Alongside this series, we ran an online residency programme called Tech for The Public Good. In partnership with the British Council and the University of Leeds's Horizons Institute, we brought together artists, creatives and academics from around the world to spend 10 days together to discuss how we can use technology to help societies from all over the world. During this time they prototyped solutions using technology and creativity to tackle global issues that they collectively decide upon. The conversations in this podcast series we're aimed to inform their process and get them talking about their own lived experiences or prompting creative responses.
In our first podcast of the series we spoke to Jane Earnshaw and Abby Dix-Mason from FOXGLOVE who are working on the Civil Engineer John Smeaton is the inspiration for the Tech for the Public Good program. Please join us as Abby and Jane talk about the extraordinary life of John Smeaton.
