When we talk about diversity, the focus normally centers on the amount participation of women in “traditionally” male-dominated spaces: engineering, computer science, technology. But as we are about to learn, diversity is more about empowerment, giving equal opportunity to more people, especially those who are often looked over.

Tech Society presents the third instalment in our Leadership series; in this episode, we are sitting down with Pia Turcinov - a corporate lawyer by trade, with broad and strategic experience across a range of industries. Her talents in business and leadership has her become a leading influence in the entrepreneurship, STEM and innovation spaces.

Tech Society hosts Alex and John from Ninja Software speak with Pia about trends in the technology space (both here in Perth and further afield), the future of work, and the broadening idea of “diversity” in tech: in industry, in workplaces, and in leadership. Her involvement with the group Women In Technology WA (WITWA) has given her a great insight into what needs to be done to break down barriers for all that want to enter the tech scene.
