On this episode of The DBC Podcast, Bo sits down with Katie Phillips (Coordinator of the church's 1 Family Orphan Care Ministry) and Heather Morris (Student Ministry Associate) for a good-humored but nonetheless intensive discussion of the effects modern technology - particularly things like social media, smartphones, and the new reality of online connectivity - is having on the practice of the Christian faith.
There are all sorts of pros and cons that are worth discussing, but Bo, Heather and Katie do their best to acknowledge that since neither technology nor God's Kingdom isn't going away, there is a need to be mindful and intentional about our relationship with various forms of technology. So, this isn't an episode that tries to decide whether technology is good or bad, but rather how a Christian should relate to it.
Speaking of technology, there were some "tech" issues with this particular recording. Perhaps the microphones didn't like what they were receiving, and so twice the computer onto which we record these conversations shut down. As such, Bo later recorded a couple of interjections that summarize the part of the conversation that were lost. Ah, technology! You can be such a scamp!
