Kentaro Toyama is a computer scientist and international development researcher, who works on the relationship of technology and global development. He is a Professor at the University of Michigan School of Information and was the founding assistant director of Microsoft Research India.
Professor Toyama's new book is "Geek Heresy: Rescuing Social Change from the Cult of Technology." He was in the Northwest to speak at Town Hall Seattle, presented by Town Hall, Elliott Bay Book Company and Humanosphere, as part of the Civics series.
