As ever, the tech industry has a wonderful habit of taking what it is old, loading it into a social network or on to mobile and declaring it an innovation. This week, Facebook rolled out Rooms, which is really just the rebirth of the forum or the chatroom. Both of which never really died in the first the place. China thinks that it has reinvented the Man in the Middle Attack by using it against Apple and Microsoft across an entire country. Someone things they have invented a hoverboard, but they haven't. Apple somehow is treating Apple Pay like the invention of contactless payments that has been around for close to a decade, and Ello just ripped off PBS's business model. Spin versus fact is the essence of tech marketing.
