Also, optimistic language matters a lot. 또한 긍정적인 언어가 아주 중요했습니다.

So this is a word cloud highlighting the most popular women, 지금 보시는 것은 인기 많은 여자들 사이에서 가장 자주 사용된 단어를 보여줍니다. (강조하다)

words like “fun” and “girl” and “love”. “재미있는” “여자” “사랑” 같은 단어들 말이죠.

And what I realized was 또 하나 깨달은 것은

not that I had to dumb down my own profile. 제 프로필을 “덜 똑똑해”보이도록 했어야 한다는 것이었어요. (dumb down – 사람들이 이해하기 쉽게 단순화 시키다)

Remember, I’m somebody who said that I speak fluent Japanese 기억나시죠? 저는 제가 일본어에 능하고

and I know javascript and I was okay with that. 자바스크립트를 다룰 수 있는 여자라고 적었고, 그런 것들을 좋아한다고 적었습니다.

The difference is that 차이점은

it’s about more approachable 타인에게 더 접근하기 쉬운 사람이 되고,

and helping people understand the best way to reach out to you.

다른 사람들이 자신에게 접근하는 쉬운 방법을 알게끔 하는 것이에요.

And as it turns out, timing is also really, really important. 또 한가지, 타이밍이 정말, 정말 중요합니다.

Just because you have access to somebody’s mobile phone number 여러분이 누군가의 휴대폰 번호를 알고 있거나

or their instant message account 이메일 주소를 알고 있고,

and it’s 2 o’clock in the morning and you happen to be awake 새벽 2시에 깨어있다고 해서

doesn’t mean that that’s a good time to communicate with those people. 그 사람과 연락하기 좋은 시간이란 뜻은 아니에요.

The popular women on these online sites 이런 온라인 데이트 사이트에서 인기 있는 여자들은

spend an average of 23 hours in between each communication. 평균 23시간 간격을 두고 연락했습니다.

And that’s what we would normally do in the usually process of courtship. 그리고 그것이 우리가 일상적인 연애에서 하는 자연스러운 진행과정이기도 하죠. (courtship – 교제, 연애)
