Ted and Shirley of the Blame Buffett Blog

Episode 23 of The Sailing Podcast is an interview with with Ted Ryder and Shirley Lambert who followed their dream of going sailing and had cruised down the intracoastal waterway in their Island Packet 35 named Serenity. They kept on online journal for friends and family that also provided valuable information to others who may be considering the trip. This was all at the Blame Buffett Blog on blogspot.

Shortly after this interview Ted suffered a massive heart attack and he passed away a few days later. I can’t tell you how sad I was to hear this news and it came as a real shock to all the people who were following their journey and my thoughts are with Shirley and his family at this time.

I spoke with Shirley about the podcast and she felt strongly that Ted would have wanted to still share the interview as he was really excited that people were following their journey online. As you listen to the interview you will hear how happy Ted was to be out following his dream as well as how important his family was to him. After the interview I asked Shirley if she would like to give us a short reflection about her time with Ted – and you will hear that at the end of this episode.
