Let's start with the definition of schizophrenia. 먼저 정신분열증이 무엇인지 정의해보죠
Schizophrenia is a brain disease. 정신분열병은 뇌질환입니다.
Its defining feature is psychosis, 사이코시스(정신이상)으로 정의되며
or being out of touch with reality. 현실과의 괴리감이 있습니다. (~더 이상 연락 하지 않는다/ 현실을 모르다)
Delusions and hallucinations are hallmarks of the illness. 망상과 환각은 이 질환의 대표적인 증세이죠 (특징)
Delusions are fixed and false beliefs 망상은 확고하고 거짓된 믿음이다. (변치 않는)
that aren't responsive to evidence, 사실에 흔들리지 않는 (즉각 반응을 보이는)
and hallucinations are false sensory experiences. 환각은 실제가 아닌 감각적 경험입니다.
For example, when I'm psychotic 예들 들면, 제가 정신이상 상황일 때는
I often have the delusion 저는 종종 망상을 합니다.
that I've killed hundreds of thousands of people with my thoughts. 제가 수 많은 사람을 생각만으로 죽였다는
I sometimes have the idea that nuclear explosions are about to be set off in my brain. 어떨 때는 제 뇌에서 핵폭발이 곧 일어날 거라고 생각하죠. (터뜨리다, 출발하다 등)
