Tee Kaa: An Amazing Journey to Advocacy

Listen Later

In our first conversation of Season 2, we welcome Tee Kaa. Tee Kaa has more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field. She is The Alumnae Coordinator at Timberline Knolls (TK) and an alumna of TK in her own recovery.  She is also a peer support specialist at Tee Kaa Talks.  Her passion to live out TK’s and Tee Kaa Talks missions in her work is driven by her own experience as a person who struggled with mental health including an eating disorder, self harm, depression and Trauma, in conjunction with her years of recovery since then.

Tee Kaa brings compassion and understanding that is uniquely evident by the joyfulness, strength and hope she readily shares with those around her.  She wholeheartedly believes through the holistic approach with skilled therapeutic interventions, a strong support system and a power much greater than themselves to surrender to, a meaningful life in recovery is possible for all the individuals she meets.  Tee Kaa earned her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Aurora University.  Her work history has centered on both the clinical level of care and administrative work.  She brings lenses from both these areas to her work at TK, with the vision to mesh the two together and grow the alumnae community.  When Tee Kaa is not working you can find her anywhere that dogs are allowed with her small pup, Sir Winston, writing about mental health, recovery and other tough topics or eating brunch anywhere there is patio dining.
