The latest figures from the Public Health Agency of Canada prove this country’s opioid problem is far from over. More than 2,000 Canadians died an opioid related death in the first half of 2018. BC recorded the most deaths in the first six months of this year, at 754. Dr Evan Wood, Executive Director of BC Centre for Substance Use talks us through the numbers.
Tis the season for scamming! The Better Business Bureau has released a list of the top rip offs employed by fraudsters during the festive season. A report released in the US this week has found Americans have been ripped off $1.3 billion by fake ‘free trial’ ads or scams starring celebrities without their permission. It’s happened to Canadians like our own Dawna Friesen and journalist Kevin Newman.
