In September 1976, a highly maneuverable UFO was sighted over Tehran, Iran. Two F-4 Phantom jets were scrambled to intercept it. Upon approaching, both jets suffered severe but temporary communication and weapons system failures. The object also allegedly released a smaller craft that safely landed. While skeptics attribute the sighting to Jupiter, meteors, and faulty aircraft equipment, it remains a famous, heavily documented military UFO encounter.
