TEI’S KOOKEN RECOGNIZED FOR WORK AT NYC HOTEL
TEI Group employee Michael Kooken was presented with a plaque by Starwood Hotels — the Westin for "exemplifying our brand standards through engineering work at our premier Times Square location" in New York City (NYC). TEI Group President Mark Gregorio commended Kooken, observing, "This is the work ethic we had when we started the company and what ultimately differentiated us from our competitors. We value Kooken's work and see ourselves growing as a result of his and all other TEI employees' efforts."

IN MEMORIAM: MARK STEVEN STICH
Mark Steven Stich, former senior account manager for Otis and an elevator consultant and project manager for Elevator Consulting Services, Inc., passed away unexpectedly on October 3 at the age of 53. After a career in the U.S. military, he returned to Plantation, Florida, where he grew up, to raise his daughter with his wife, Kim. In his role with Elevator Consulting Services, he worked with many local and international entities to ensure elevator safety. Projects he took part in included elevator systems for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. In addition to Kim, Stich's survivors include daughter, Katy; parents, Arthur Lee Stich and M. Joyce Stich; and brother, David Alan Stich.
