  • Ending Announcement, Year 2, Lent 2025

Thank you for accompanying me on this year's journey. I made an effort this year to be more deliberate and less ambitious, not constantly trying and failing to include weekend services and then getting burned out and missing days. Through your support and prayers, this year I actually managed to do all the weekday services this whole Lent without any gaps. I look forward to the coming commemorations and celebrations of Holy Week and Pascha, and the whole new year afterwards. God willing, I'll be with you all again next year. I leave you with an early: Christ is Risen! Khristos Voskrese! Khristos Anesti! al-Masīḥ qām!

  • 6th Thursday Great Compline

The Order of Great Compline for the Sixth and Final Thursday of the Great Fast. Normally starting at the Second Week, we take at Great Compline the Canon of one of the saints of the day for the period of Holy and Bright Weeks. Due to time constraints I am unable to record these canons. The 6th Thursday is an open day for making up a lost day in the sequence in years where such a need exists. This year we may take the supplicatory canon of the Theotokos for the day and tone of the week from the Oktoikh or whatever other canon one wishes to insert here.

About Telethros (Gregorian)

From the publisher's feed

In this podcast, I will be uploading reader versions of services in the Byzantine Rite, on the Gregorian Calendar, mostly according to the usage of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. These are meant as guides to accompany and even direct life in the domestic church. We all live much busier lives than our ancestors, whose rural living in tight-knit villages around their parish churches allowed them to live their lives to the rhythm of the Church Year. We, however, often find ourselves commuting long distances or working longer hours which don't allow us the luxury of daily church attendance. So many of us turn to home prayer rules, but resources can often be few and far between, and even when they do exist, they can be complicated and time consuming to use. That's where this podcast wants to provide some support. By making the reader services, as they would be done un-priested in home or church worship, available in an audio-only format, my hope is that more of us can be uplifted by the liturgical core of our Byzantine Spiritual and Liturgical Tradition to maintain our prayer life in our busy modern lives.
