Tell me about the coronavirus in your region.

Listen Later

Okay, so we're going to talk about coronavirus in our area. This is such a heated topic. I can't even begin to explain to you how many people are fighting over the coronavirus. Some people think it's fake. Some people think it's real. Some people think it's not serious. Some people think it is. Our state at first was very good at social distancing and our numbers were very low. But in the past few days and weeks, our numbers have skyrocketed. I believe yesterday there was like 3000 cases or something of that nature.

I honestly don't follow the number tally that closely. It just adds stress to life, so I don't really follow that, but I believe that's what it was. I actually work as a home health aide for an elderly lady. She is in her eighties and she has Alzheimer, so she's very high risk for coronavirus. As such, we have taken extra precautions to try to keep her safe. I wear a mask anytime I'm in public around other people that are not my immediate family. We try to keep 6 feet of distance between ourselves and others when we're as stores. I wash my hands any time I go into work, for sure. Or anytime my kids come home, they wash their hands. Were trying to eat healthy. You know, I think supporting your immune system to fight the virus is very important. So lots of fruits and vegetables and high immunity foods.

At my work, we have to wear a mask the whole time we're with this lady. We do have to wash our hands upon entering. We wear gloves whenever we're in contact with her. There are only three of us that are allowed to work a shift with her at this time to limit her access to people who have been out and about and who could do or who could accidentally bring in the coronavirus.

The state has kind of set like a state of emergency a little bit. I think that's what they called it. But they basically are making us, not making us, they're asking us to please refrain from any social gatherings for, like, two weeks unless it's with immediate family. And if you are with people, you should limit it to under 10 people and they have a mask mandate now, which means you have to wear a mask any time that you are out in public, at the grocery store or anywhere that you can't safely social distance from another person.

And that's kind of where we're at right now with the coronavirus in Utah.
