In this podcast episode, Yasi Ansari, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, joins the podcast and shares various ways to improve our relationships with ourselves and others, as well as promote greater body positivity. Ansari shares ways to start the journey of providing greater love and understanding to our physical bodies and limiting the impact of societal, famililial, and cultural expectations on our understanding and experience of ourselves. Dr. Sheva and Ansari discuss the impact of tuning into oneself, assessing our emotional and physical needs, and offering more experiences of support to ourselves as a powerful way to experience holistic wellness.
Ansari is the owner of a consulting practice specializing in nutrition for athletic performance and nutrition therapy for eating disorders/disordered eating. She helps athletes improve their relationship with food and body image. In addition, she works with adolescents diagnosed with eating disorders at the UCLA Health Santa Monica. Ansari is a National Media Spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and a member of the Sports and Human Performance Nutrition dietetic practice group. She collaborates with the Athletes and the Arts initiative to help create educational content for performing arts athletes and co-hosts the Athletes and the Arts podcast.
