From TikTok viewer (user iii_1986_iii): Is it true that once you’re immune, you’re immune because if not that would make literally every vaccine ever manufactured worthless.
We all wish that were true. Even for# influenza, a yearly booster with different antigens is required. #Tetanus requires a 10 year booster. Even childhood vaccinations such as #MMR and #polio must be repeated if you are planning travel into an area where these diseases are present. All immunity wanes over time.
In the case of #Covid, the virus is mutating and the currently available vaccines made against the original strain are not completely protective. Boosters are now under development by Moderna and Pfizer.
