Welcome to the Show

Good day and welcome to this week’s episode of the Nursing Show podcast for nurses, by nurses. I’m your host Jamie Davis and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for checking out the show this week. First up, in this week’s nursing news items, we look at the importance of getting a jump on stroke treatment and prevention by aggressively treating mini-strokes or TIAs when they occur.

Then, in this week’s tip segment we have more of the great interviews from the American Nurse Informatics Association (ANIA) event in San Francisco last month. These are attendees, speakers and poster presenters from the event who all share a passion for technology and its use in advancing patient care. Check out the things they have to say about what every nurse needs to know about being a nurse informaticist. We’ll have that and more later in this episode after the news.

If you want to get back in touch with me, please drop me an email. You can send those e-mails in to [email protected]. I love to hear from you and I make sure I respond back to every email that comes in. Send me links to news items you’d like me to cover, interview suggestions with you or somebody you know.

Also, I’ll be attending the upcoming AACN critical care nursing conference in New Orleans in just a few weeks. A special thank you to Physio-Control, Nezzie by Blickman, and Advanced Ultra-Violet Systems for sponsoring my trip to that amazing conference.  That’s it. I will have more contact information coming up later on in this episode. Let’s get on in to this week’s news items coming right up!
