Happy Canada Day! There is something greater that ties us believers together than cheering for Canada or nationalistic pride - the Lord Jesus Christ! It is Jesus and Him tying us together as a church that will be the focus this Sunday from 1 Timothy 4:14-16 as we continue our sermon mini-series entitled F.I.T. (Faithful Involved Tied). Jesus saved us to be a church that affirms our spiritual gifts, appreciates our spiritual progress and pays attention to our believers and behaviours. Because of what Jesus has done, we who once were separated from God and each other, are tied together in Christ and so let’s continue to commit to growing TOGETHER in the word of God, prayer, fellowship and the breaking of bread.

Happy Father's Day! This Sunday we begin a new two-week series entitled F.I.T. from 1 Timothy 4. We will get back to the Book of Exodus in July, but before you go on vacation, I want to you thinking staying F.I.T. this summer. F.I.T. stands for Faithful, Involved and Tied. As we have been journeying with the Israelites through the wilderness, we need to learn how to stay F.I.T. in times when we are ill-equipped and seem to lack resources. This Sunday we will learn how to be faithful and yet involved as fathers, but more importantly, as church family members. When we are in our wilderness times, may we look to the Lord to help us stay F.I.T.

This Sunday, Rev. Dr. Tim Strickland, the Church Vitality Director for FEBCentral (the Fellowship region of Ontario and English-speaking Quebec), will be preaching on John 4 and what it means to be a church of enduring vitality.

If you were making a covenant with another person you loved, what would words would you say to them? God made a covenant with His People and gave 10 Words (aka The 10 Commandments). Do you know the 10 Commandments? Are you living them? How does this relate to the gospel of Christ? This Sunday we will be studying Exodus 20 and trying to answer these questions.

This weekend we are hosting Sean McDowell, a leading apologist, in helping us engage culture with the gospel of Christ during our Chesterton Talks. It starts Friday evening, continues on Saturday morning and Dr. McDowell will also be preaching on Sunday from Acts 17 on how to share our faith. Please take advantage of this world-class training on how to be salt and light with the gospel.

This Sunday Pastor Steve Limmer will teach us about going to the mountain of God from Exodus 19. May we all have an encounter with God this weekend!

Happy Victoria Day weekend! I know many of you aren’t thinking about Queen Victoria this weekend. She is long gone, having died 125 years ago in 1901. FUN FACT: We observe her birthday of May 24, 1819 and not her death of January 22, 1901. Instead of thinking about Queen Victoria, our minds are often focused on camping, gardening, and grilling. However, permit me to draw your attention to Queen Victoria’s name. Victoria is the Latin name for victory. This makes me ponder how one becomes victorious? I guess it depends on what you are trying to win or conquer. So, let’s narrow the question further to how does one become spiritually victorious? Read Exodus 17:8-16 and come this Sunday to our service to find out the answer!

Happy Mother's Day! One thing I have learned being a parent for 25 years now is that parents need parental advice. I need parental advice from those who have gone before me, especially my parents and my in-laws. This Sunday we will learn from Exodus 18 that one of the greatest spiritual leaders in history needed advice from his father-in-law. In the midst of honouring your mother, try seeking her advice or your mother-in-law’s advice!

The ancient Israelites longed for water when they camped at Rephidim in the Sinai, but they found none. What happened next? Check out Exodus 17:1-7 to see how God showed up in their lives. And if God showed up in His people’s lives, how might He show up in our lives, especially when we are in great need?

This week we will be looking at Exodus 16 about how God provided bread and meat from heaven just after the Israelites passed through the waters of the Red Sea. It fits perfectly because in John 6, Jesus describes Himself as the Bread of Life. Come ready to praise the Lord!
