Publisher's Summary:
Daniel Day could tell you all about his love for God and his desire to live as a follower of Jesus. But it took a simple but radical experiment to move from simply talking about it to actually living like it. For ten days at a time, Daniel chose to abandon a certain "necessity" - a coat, a voice, shoes, media, furniture, legs, touch - and to blog about it to raise funds and awareness for organizations that are doing amazing things to make a difference in the world. And then he invited others to join him in the experiments and spread the vision. Together they served God and others - and experienced significant personal change in the process. Ten Days Without is the story of their life-altering adventure.
Ten Days Without is a compelling story and practical guide that will equip you and your friends to break through walls of convenience and indifference, and join a movement that is confronting apathy and ignorance around the world to make an impact on peoples lives in a God-honoring way. Ten Days Without is where our good intentions end and making a difference in the world begins.

Inspirational Read
Ten Days Without, by Daniel Ryan Day is an inspirational read. It was hard to read at times because I am reminded of how little I do for the Lord. It only takes one person to make a difference and Daniel Ryan Day has made a difference in my life. My children will be reading the book next and I am thinking as a family, we will be doing a 10 day of our own.
I thought 10 days of going without something was kinda of insignificant till I read his accounts. He has gone 10 days without shoes. He has gone without a coat, without furniture. He has gone without touch or talking. That seems so small, till you read about his experiences. Till you let it resonate in your thoughts and you can not sleep at night because this book has made you think. That seriously happened last night. I could not sleep at all. I was up late and we had church this morning that I did not want to miss. I don't even have the physical book here. Though I do have the e-book so I am able to complete this review.
I recieved this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Ten Days Without Review
I have to be honest. I wasn't really interested in reading "10 Days Without" by Daniel Ryan Day. I didn't know anything about it and I didn't know what to expect. In fact, the only thing that was of interest to me was the fact that Day graduated from Appalachian State (my college school) and seemed to be right around my age.
I am so glad I read this book. Day set out to challenge himself and others to become intentional Christians. He sacrificed different things for 10 days and blogged about the challenge. He gave up things such as shoes, his legs, and even human touch. Meanwhile, he created fundraisers and brought attention to great organizations such as International Justice Mission, prisons, domestic violence shelters, and Joni and Friends among others. Every sacrifice he made was intentional and really propelled people towards noticing these organizations and the people they service.
Check out his blog here and the 10 Days Without website here. This is an awesome book to read and it's really motivational.
