Black South African tennis players remain elusive at the highest level. Apart from Lucas Sithole and Kgothatso Montjane, both involved in the disabled sector of the sport, there remains a big question over the growth of it at a professional level. That is one of the reasons Tennis South Africa is driving hard to try and produce a player that can break the barriers at the highest level. TSA recently launched a fourth development centre countrywide, a sign that the game is starting to make new inroads into the previously disadvantaged communities. The organisation’s development manager Mpho Makhoba believes things are starting to look more positive.
