Season 2 Episode #22: Teri White-Clarity

Teri White serves as a Community Educator, Certified Sexual Risk Avoidance Specialist, and the Curriculum Content Manager for the “I Decide For Me” school program with Clarity, a non-profit community organization in Indiana. IDFM is a sexual risk avoidance program for middle school and high school kids. Although she primarily teaches 6th and 8th graders, she manages the curriculum for 6th, 8th and High School grades. The goal of Clarity’s entire education team is to engage, inspire and educate kids on the risks and consequences related to their sexual choices. Everything taught is based on biblical principles, which makes this a very unique program for the public school system.

The state of Indiana’s Board of Education requires that students be taught sexual abstinence until marriage is the healthiest choice for optimal health. This state health education standard helps to keep the Clarity curriculum in their schools.

In Teri’s own words, “ I just go into schools and love on kids and tell them how valuable they are and that each one of them are important and matter.”
