Tern Rounders' music paints a richly varied landscape, from the rootsy vistas of fellow songwriter/musicians like Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Emmylou Harris, Townes Van Zandt, to further down the coast to California, warping back to a time when Gram Parsons & The Burrito Bros. flew high over L.A. and the Buffalo Springfield still roamed.
Tern Rounders are about to release our debut album. Produced and recorded in a farmhouse attic in Argyle, NY, the recording consists of ten original tracks, an homage to the traditional 45-minute LP vinyl format, back when distributable media platforms dictated album length resulting in a dense artistic whole that defined the notion of an "album."
A Different Land features the tightly locked vocal harmonies of Kim Noyes and Marc Clayton, who both play guitar; Roger Noyes shares multi-instrumentalist duties with Marc, who together fill out the album's ensemble textures on drums, percussion, bass, keyboards, lead guitar, harmonica and banjo.
Since the start of recording in February, the trio - which formed in November 2008 - has recently been joined by drummer Jim Ketterer and bassist Harry Strole who complete the Tern Rounders sound and have become critical partners as the band focuses on creating new music.
