Taiwanese business tycoon Terry Gou has been in the news recently. Gou is the CEO of Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics contract manufacturer. The company is the trading name of the Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Company and counts Apple among its major clients. Hon Hai employs about one million people.

Recently, Terry Gou’s Yonglin Foundation and other private entities such as the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, a technology giant, have been working to buy millions of COVID-19 vaccine doses as Taiwan faces its worst outbreak since the pandemic began.
