Todays guest is Terry Senate. Terry is a shaper in San Clemente California. Terry shapes surfboards for all walks of life and all skill levels. Terry is also the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Terry say's..."When I first started shaping boards...I never planned to make a career out of it. I just wanted to make boards for me and my friends." Terry has been shaping surfboards for over 40 years. These days his shop is thriving. Terry will invite you into the shaping bay for some surf conversation as people continuously come in and out of his little surf shop located in the heart of the San Clemente Surf Ghetto. Terry shapes all types of surfboards...from his popular fish to the trendy Mid-Lengths...to Classic Longboards to high performance shortboards. Terry say's..."its really cool, that my older clients have been riding my custom longboards for years, now their kids are showing up wanting custom shortboards. Terry can shape anything. Terry started surfing at age 8 in 1964. At age 12 he shaped his first surfboard. He literally chopped down a tree to shape the first board himself. At age 20 he went to shape surfboards for Infinity Surfboards in Dana Point.  Then Terry met Ben Aipa. Ben was one of Terrys Idols. And when they met, Ben would help Terry hone his skills. Terry started to get good and people began asking for Terry...a lot. Terry eventually left Infinity to open his own surf shop..Terry Senate Surfboard...Nestled in the surf ghetto in North San Clemente. Terrys shop is an old school "Surfers" Surf shop. with a lot of salt... and a lot of "Ball Busting"...But if you need a leash...some wax..ding repair or a custom board????? He's got you covered.
