I bought this walkman filthy and broken. I scrubbed it clean, replaced the dead drive belts, cleaned and relubricated the transport, then cleaned and "rubber renued" the pinch roller & tires. The rewind idler wheel was very stiff until I put it through the ultrasonic cleaner, then it loosened up.
It still has flutter, I think because of the generic belts I used, but it plays, rewinds, and fasts-forwards! The radio also works, but I didn't demo it here. I haven't tested recording, as I don't have a suitable tape.
