First talk on TESTIFY! The what, who, how, where, and why of witnessing to Yeshua's cause. Definition of witness in Torah, one who tells what he has seen or heard. Hebrew terms ed and edut, Greek terms martur, martureo, and marturion. Witnesses tell a story, they say "This is what happened. I was there!" Instances from the Gospel of Yochanan and Acts of the Apostles. People telling the story of Elazar's resurrection were testifying of Yeshua. Speaking well of someone, making them the hero of the story, giving them props, contributing to their good reputation, are all wrapped up in the Greek word for witness in the Apostolic Writings. Examples include Yeshua, Timothy, Cornelius, Ananias, the seven including Stephen and Philip, and the criteria for elders. The Father is a witness and testifies of Yeshua. The Holy Spirit is a witness and testifies of Yeshua. Yeshua is a witness and was born to testify to the truth. He is the true and faithful martyr, the leader of our movement. Yeshua's apostles testified to what he did and wrote the Gospels as eyewitnesses, and were witnesses of his sufferings and resurrection.
