Jesus's first words from the cross - Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do - demonstrate the ultimate example of grace and forgiveness. Even in extreme suffering, Jesus showed concern for others rather than himself, praying for the forgiveness of his executioners, mockers, and all present. This radical act teaches us that grace begins and ends with forgiveness.
