KPRC reporter Aaron Wilson joins Stan Norfleet on Next Up to break down the Houston Texans retaining Bobby Slowik as offensive coordinator and Jerrod Johnson as quarterbacks coach. Slowik and Johnson interviewed for multiple positions around the league, but Wilson was never worried about either of them leaving the Texans. "Jerrod was closer to getting a job than Bobby." Slowik and Johnson both got pay raises in their upgraded contracts with the Texans. "What says respect more than money." Wilson also comments on quarterback C.J. Stroud not appearing at the 2024 Houston Sports Awards despite winning Athlete of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. "He had a lot of demands being the starting quarterback," including participating in the Pro Bowl Games this week.
