The Two Gay Geeks have a chat with Joseph Gaxiola of Joshua Tree Feeding Program. He is here to chat with us about the World AIDS Day Concert they are co-producing as well as the Grand Canyon Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Red Dress Ball. As always it is great talking with Joseph about a cause we care deeply about. Have a listen and we hope you enjoy this as much as we did.

About the World AIDS Day Concert
Joshua Tree Feeding Program will host a World AIDS Day Concert on Sunday, December 1st at the Parsons Center in central Phoenix. This performance features songs by and about people facing HIV and related struggles, triumphs, stigmas, medical treatments, grief, and survivorship throughout the 37-year history of AIDS.
The World AIDS Day Concert features the music of the AIDS Quilt Songbook - an ongoing, national collaborative song cycle that debuted at Lincoln Center in 1992 with 18 songs about the current experiences of people living and dying with HIV/AIDS. The Songbook was conceived as a classical music project parallel to the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. Many songs have been added to the collection since the first 18 songs premiered in the 1990s. The December performance includes songs from the original songbook, plus many newer compositions that reflect the changing face of HIV over the decades and around the world.
The concert takes place in conjunction with a display of panels from the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, and is the launch event to a week of World AIDS Day commemorations, including the Phoenix AIDS Candlelight Vigil.

About The Grand Canyon Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Red Dress Ball
The Grand Canyon Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be hosting our second annual Red Dress Ball—an evening of dancing, drinks, and local entertainment. The Ball will be held on 16 November 2019 at the Parsons Center for Health and Wellness (1101 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004). Last year’s event was a huge success (the Sisters organized over 20 volunteers from across the community who donated over 300 hours to build a truly grand evening). Nearly 150 people attended last year’s Red Dress Ball, allowing us to raise over $4,000 on a budget of just $650. This money was used to support the Joshua Tree Feeding Program, which provides an empowering food-distribution service to HIV-positive individuals dealing with food insecurity.
This year our goal is to raise at least $10,000; we intend to use this money to support Joshua Tree and the 2020 AIDS Walk of Arizona hosted by ...
