Lyrics from John Lennon's "Nobody Told Me" have been running through my mind over the last few weeks: "Strange Days Indeed - Most Peculiar, Mama..."
The swiftness with which the CoVid-19 pandemic came in upon us has had a startling and unprecedented effect on humanity and life as we've all known it. In Episode 4 with Mr. Trey Griggs, we talk about how the demand upon leaders has skyrocketed as they face challenges most would never have anticipated in their lifetimes. How Leadership in the family is equally as critical during this crisis and how the tone set by parents can be a game-changer for our children, who are far less prepared to cope with such shocking changes in their world. We discuss the importance of teaching our children social responsibility, striving for excellence but not perfection, how being a "Generalist" rather than a "Specialist" can be a saving grace, and how even during times of fear, true leaders are revealed and step up to the call to serve others.
We wrap up the episode with Trey sharing what he feels is the most important quality of a gentleman to emulate today - hint: it's probably one of the most difficult to master but so important!
Thank you for listening!
