Antibiotics can be absolutely life-saving and certainly revolutionised medicine but are we now being over prescribed? New research has been released stating that by 18, a person will have had 10-20 courses of antibiotics in their lifetime. Is this a sign of antibiotic overuse?

 

How many antibiotic prescriptions have you had in your lifetime? Are antibiotics safe? Have you experienced antibiotic overuse? Why are you being referred antibiotics? Can there be another solution? On this week's episode of The Good Doctors we answer all these questions as well as talk about patient and doctor pressure for antibiotics and give you some tips on other ways to promote the bodies influence of healing. Antibiotics are a valuable treatment in some cases and definitely have a place in modern medicine, so we also provide some suggestions about supplementing your antibiotics with probiotics.
