Ed Leigh is in snowboarding for life, I'm not entirely sure there is anyone who can speak so eloquently about the experience of snowboarding and why you should do it, as well as having a nearly bottomless realm of stories from his time in the mountains. He loves life and finds it interesting and as such, life finds him the craziest opportunities for him to eperience and share.
Time spent with Ed is always a pleasure and he really understood what we are trying to acheive with this podcast, which is to remind the listener how much fun and how good for your soul snowboarding is, above most other past times, remember some good times and look forward to more.
Shred flick of the week:
Subjekt Haakonsen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJoC31NY55o
An absolute barn storming video with a sick soundtrack. This was Terje (GOAT) at the height of his power, slaying competitions, hammering the backcountry, in short telling the world why he is the man... this video helped incite a riot at Sheffield Ski Village, but more about that as this series pans out....
Ed also mentioned Snowcamp, which is a charity that takes underpriviledged kids out tot he mountains to help, literally, broaden their horizons, you can find out more about their work here:
https://www.snow-camp.org.uk/
I'd also like to mention this podcast has been made possible by The Snowboard Asylum, who, have helped the scene so much over the years and remain an integral glue, and I'm stoked to be working with them on this. Their new website with all the new seasons kit (and some great deals on previous years kit) can be found here:
https://www.snowboard-asylum.com
Also got to shout out The Reason magazine, keeping the stoke alive when magazines are in decline, they create a thing of beauty and well worth looking at, check it out here:
https://thereasonmag.com/
and, of course, if you have anything to share wth the community, want to say hi, give any feedback, or just share the stoke, you can email at [email protected]
Peace x
