Your child could have PDA also known as Pathalogical Demand Avoidance. It is a disability found mainly in individuals that fit the Autism and ADHD profile, and because it is not an official diagnosis it is difficult to recognise and and get help. It was developed by psychology professor Albert Mehrabian at the University of California, Los Angeles, who laid out the concept in his 1971 book Silent Messages (1971).
