Who is really speaking when you are talking? How often are we consciously aware of what we say on a daily basis? Most of us want to believe that the words we say represent our authentic selves, thoughts, and ideas. However, it is also common to hear people say, “It just slipped out,” “I didn’t mean to say that,” or “That was a mistake.” Many versions of the same sentiment exist to express how often we are not really the ones who are speaking when we talk. Today, I will share some lessons I have learned so far in figuring out who has been speaking through me during my daily interactions.
