2 years on from my last Podcast, I thought it would be apt to look at NLP & Time
Another of the NLP 'Metaprograms', the way we 'do' time can have a great bearing on how we operate in the world, and how we get along with other people.
Some people are ordered, plan, like lists and a routine, can delay gratification; others are laid back and in the moment, fogetful and late!
In this episode, my NLP mentor, Chris Grimsley of NLP in the North West talks about his experience of NLP, how it has benefited him personally and for others he has taught.
Chris discusses his own use of NLP to 'dump' old stuff such as smoking, and to allow him to make a decision to become freelance from a 'safe' career in Social Work.
This was recorded as a Video Podcast-the original video can be seen on my YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/i9zGd3zqJ_g
The links to Chris' online work are on the video and here:

Do you ever find yourself running around doing loads for other people?
Feel guilty if you say no?
Then stop it- and listen to this podcast to understand that being a rescuer is not a very good idea for your own well-being.
How to put yourself first more often, say no without justification and please you...
People!- How could they?! I cannot believe they did that! I'd never do that..
Ever find yourself frustrated or upset that others do things differently to the way you would expect them to?
People aren't always going to be nice just because you are a nice person
Learn how to feel better by lowering your expectations of others, and accept that they have a different set of values and 'rules' to you

It's not Seeing is Believing- you cannot believe something to be true until you see the point of it.
In this Podcast we will look at beliefs- our current truths that re right for us- how we take them on,
Why it is pointless arguing with people's beliefs and
What the 3 most unhelpful belief types are
Do you see what I mean? Do you hear what I am saying? Do you get me?
In this second episode of NLP Basics, we look at our first metaprogram (the deepest unconscious filters we run).
Visual- Auditory- Kinaesthetic preferences dictate how we take the world in, what is important to us. It can be 'spotted' in our language, the way we speak, breathe and dress.
Understanding this difference can make a lot of difference to how well we communicate with others who are not the same as us
With millions of things in the outside world and a very limited capacity to hold stuff in our conscious mind, we have to create our own internal map of the world.
We look at the Communication model, which explains how we have to Delete, Distort and Generalize through our senses, to make sense of the shared world.
The first of many Podcasts aimed at showing some of the basic concepts and skills from NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming)
Ever find yourself clock-watching all night? Restless- overthinking about ridiculous things?
This podcast will give you simple and effective techniques for easily quietening the mind, resting and enjoying your sleep
Episode 2- Thoughts aren't Things
Do you think you over-think? And what if that's a bad thing? And if it was what would it mean? JUST STOP IT!
Overthinking is the superpower and the curse of the human- how can you tame that chatter?
On offer are some things I have found useful for being a human being in the 21st Century
It’s a laid back place for ideas, chat and techniques drawn from 20 years of learning and delivering NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) and other ways of understanding how people ‘tick’
These are my versions of things- applied for real life, real people in the real world

Coming outside of my comfort zone to do my first ever podcast
I'm Alan Johnson- That NLP Bloke, and I'm going to share with you some of the many lessons I have learned over the past 20 years about how to be happy in your own skin, get on better in life and to cope with the world and other people!
It's an irreverent and a bit sweary in places- so possibly not the kind of NLP delivery you are used to. I am passionate about sharing these practical life skills with as many people in 'real world' settings.
So have a listen, and if it's not for you then thanks for having a go. If it is for you, keep listening, and let me know what you think and would like in the future
