“That Guy Habibi” is a young creative, social media personality and entrepreneur that grew up in Palisades Park, NJ. He is always a class clown; he says he always “spread laughter and spread joy” to anyone who encounters him. He picked up on comedy two years ago and gathered his inspiration from memes he saw online that he had always thought of in his head before. He realized then that word spreads fast and then started making skits online that gained traction. “I wanted to manage myself when I realized managing someone else meant no one is ever going to be on the same page as you.”
To decide to be a comedian isn’t as easy as people may think. That Guy Habibi puts a lot of time and works behind his sketches. Incorporating his culture sometimes may confuse his family when he tries to explain his content and love for comedy to a traditional family. He says he always had ideas floating around, but it takes time to release them because sometimes he may not think it should be posted then. He owns a music studio in Dumont, NJ, and a barbershop and as his social media presence became more prominent, more of his clients started seeing his content. He gets much of his comedy sense from his dad, who he thinks is also really funny.
“You want to own your own stuff; you sleep 20% of your life, but what are you doing with the other 80% of your life?” he says when talking about how much work he puts into his multiple endeavors. A born leader, he always thought ahead of everyone else and wanted to inspire others to become their own leaders, especially other artists and comedians. Since he was surrounded by people who helped him who were also born leaders like some of Playboi Carti’s producers and people who have managed comedian Druski, he wants to help others the same. His advice, he says, “Think outside the box, what is going to throw people off guard.
”When asked about the order of his successes he wants to see, he says his goals would be to become prominent in the comedy world, then music and acting, then fashion, Youtube, and then some freelance. Those only scratch the surface of the many important things he can conquer! The possibilities are endless.
You can catch him on many different platforms, mainly on Instagram as @thatguyhabibi.
