That's Holy Spirit

Listen Later

That's Holy Spirit

The message emphasises the vital role of Holy Spirit as one of God’s greatest gifts to believers. Jesus returned to the Father so that the Holy Spirit could come and continue His ministry on earth through willing and surrendered people, beginning powerfully at Pentecost Acts 2

Holy Spirit is described as the Spirit of Truth, who leads believers closer to Jesus, reminds them of His teachings, reveals God’s purposes and prepares and guides them through life. However, His guidance requires openness, listening and willingness to walk with Him.

Believers filled with Holy Spirit gain spiritual understanding and begin to see life through God’s perspective. Most importantly, the Spirit reveals Christ within believers—“Christ in you, the hope of glory” Colossians 1:27—making God’s presence real and active in everyday life.

The coming of the Holy Spirit means:

·      Jesus has entrusted ordinary believers with His mission, love and truth.

·      Christians are called to reveal Christ to the world through their lives.

·      Believers themselves become dwelling places of God, with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit living within them.

The message stresses that the Holy Spirit remains permanently with believers, not temporarily, fulfilling Jesus’ promise in John 14. Because God lives within them, Christians are called beyond belief into loving obedience and deeper relationship with Him.

It also highlights a spiritual challenge: the world, the flesh, and the devil seek to keep believers unaware of their identity in Christ. When Christians understand they are forgiven, Spirit-filled, and loved by God, they live transformed lives—bringing hope, praying in faith, loving courageously, and witnessing to Jesus.

The central call of the message is for believers to open their hearts to Holy Spirit, allow Him to shape them and partner with Him in bringing Christ’s love, wisdom and power to a needy generation. The concluding challenge is not whether God is willing to move but whether believers are willing to listen, trust and act in faith and confidence.

The message finishes with Pastor Ian sharing about the character and nature of who Holy spirit is. To listen it starts at around 20m:45s into the message.
