One of our KenTen Writers Group members has written a children’s book. It is so sweet, well written, and illustrated with so much thought that I had to have the author on my podcast. Hope you enjoy meeting Justine Riley.
Justine Riley lives in Mayfield, KY with her husband and son. She’s a flower grower, a horse smeller, a yogurt maker. She has kept her sour dough alive and well for over a year now. She loves going for walks and sometimes she makes pottery. She is a book artist. She explores both sides of what a book is, not just the story, but also the vessel that contains the story.
This is a book for horse lovers and children alike. It is a playfully serious book about horses, in rhyme, inspired by a twelve year horse love. This book playfully tells about how to say hi to a horse, what horses like to eat, the work involved in having a horse and much more! All the illustrations were originally handmade using book cloth, scissors and an old singer sewing machine. To learn more visit www.horsesmeller.com.
