On this episode of That's Odd, Mexican general Antonio López de Santa Anna is well known for having led Mexico against Texan revolutionaries in the Mexican-American War and later becoming president. What many people don't know is that he was once forced out of retirement to face the French army, only to lose his leg in battle. What he did with the leg next would leave many scratching their heads. And, pranks and practical jokes have been around since the beginning of time. Pulling out one's chair as they are about to sit, dousing clothing in itching powder and exploding golf balls never fail to elicit a laugh from most people. Taking advantage of the gullibility of the public can be said to be just as funny. At least, it was to a certain Duke of Montagu.
