Episode 3: “That’s Why They Put Erasers On Pencils”

Welcome to the Eat The Pudding fan podcast, where Michael and Ian explore the Simpsons universe in all its colourful and cromulent forms. This is the third episode: “That’s Why They Put Erasers On Pencils”.

This episode’s Spotlight On Springfield focuses on Homer’s colleagues and buddies Lenny and Carl, who are rarely seen apart but seem to have a rather fractious relationship at times. We choose our favourite Lenny-and-Carl moments and happily give house room to wild and unfounded speculation that they might be more than just best friends. It’s easy to gossip. Fun too!

In the second part of our Season Four arc, Ian opts for an evergreen Simpsons classic with the two underappreciated Simpsons women – Marge and Maggie – at the fore. And Michael's choice for this episode’s Songs Of Springfield is Baby On Board, from a memorable season opener with more shameless Beatleisms than an Oasis B-side.
