In todays episode we finish out the sixth chapter of Mark.

Verse of the day Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭26‬ ‭“Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

We see a few scenes pointing us to review the old testament to validate who Jesus is. We see Jesus have compassion on the crowd which leads him to teach them, we see a miracle of feeding over 5000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish. We see Jesus walk on water, and many people healed.

Today I interviewed my beautiful wife Dr. Michelle. We talked about our story, dating God’s way, the tensions of the in between, and what its like to be in a Christ centered marriage. Touching the good, the bad, the scary, and the fun things about being married. 

I gave some “great” first date advice and spoke on the importance of setting boundaries and intentions right away. We finish with a bit on Michelles life as a mother and how it’s changed her.

Todays episode is looking at 3 sections in Mark.

First Jesus visits his hometown and his works are limited by the rejection of him.

Second Jesus sends out the 12 on their first mission telling them, pack lightly, accept hospitality, rely on Gods provision, cast out demons and heal the sick! He also tells them how to handle rejection of their own.

Last bit is about Herod, his illicit relationship with his niece, and the horrible way he executes John the Baptist.

The questions remain that we must ask: Who is this man Jesus? And How do we respond to the truth?

Todays episode we see a theme continued throughout all of chapter 5. A theme of desperation of falling at Jesus‘s feet and begging him for something. Last week‘s the begged the towns and then the cleaned man begged Jesus. But this week we see a ruler lady who’s been estranged for years.

This week has many elements to it, but the pieces are this the bigger, the risk the bigger the faith. That we need to make room for Jesus to move in our life if we want complete healing. And we see aspects where Jesus and Jesus alone can reconcile all things.

Todays episode is about Jesus Authority and his purpose to set those in captivity free.

We address that Faith is the antidote to Fear. We see that sometimes in obedience to God we walk into heavy storms that require us to rely on him more and more to build our faith. We see that even those not submitted to Jesus as Lord can still cry out and pray to God, but only those who call upon him and put their faith in him will be saved.

Todays episode we peer into 4 scenes of Mark chapter 3 that characterize important aspects of Jesus ministry.

The first question we ask is in regard to the crowd that followed him, what did they seek? Why did they follow him?

In scene two we also pull from Luke and Matthew to get a full picture and see the importance of his trip to the mountain to select the 12.

The third scene addresses the claim that Jesus was using satans power to cast out demons and then opens the warning of the unpardonable sin.

We close out with scene four talking about family, and who the family is that Jesus is focused on.

In today’s episode we conclude the 5 first controversies in Mark. In these three controversies we see Jesus pointing out the issue of the practice of fasting and of sabbath.

The lesson teaches us that Jesus is pointing to motive and heart posture time and time again when it comes to the things of God. Jesus was not a part of the religious establishment but was showing the intention from the beginning.

Jesus displays his authority once again but over new aspects and restates his claim to be the messiah.
