The 11th Commandment:

John 13:31-38

Big Idea: Jesus commands us to love one another even as He loved us. We can not follow Jesus faithfully and neglect to love other believers, especially those in our own church family.

1. Jesus’ love was costly love (John 13:31-32).

2. Jesus’ love was caring love (John 13:33).

3. Jesus’ love was commanded love (John 13:34).

4. Jesus’ love was clear love (John 13:35).

5. Jesus’ love was committed love (John 13:36-38).

This text teaches us that: Love is a self-sacrificing, caring commitment which, in obedience to Jesus, shows itself in seeking the highest good of the one loved.
