The “1994 crime bill” that Joe Biden helped write and pass gave birth to the new “Jim Crow”. Systematic poverty, generational poverty and there relationship to mental health was never considered when this bill was passed. We examine the results of this bill from a physiological and lived experience perspective and challenge the audience to think harder about how we allocate resources and the need for criminal justice reform.
