Matthew Chapter 6 beginning at verse 31, “Therefore do not worry saying, ‘What shall we eat, what shall we drink or what shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek, for your heavenly father knows that you need these things, but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.“
I think I know the reason why there are so few prayer meetings in America today. We erred in our earlier prayers by letting them be so focused on our own needs and our own provisions. Having prospered as with the church in Laodicea, we no longer see the need to pray because we have all acquired what we thought would make us secure. Jesus called this condition wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. Today we need to cast off this condition and begin again to seek first the kingdom of God.
It’s time to pray.
