The #2 Key is all about Acceptance. We all have to make the fundamental choice to take responsibility for every area of our lives. It simply means giving up all the excuses we have, and all the justifications we have for our behaviors. We may even have good reasons, but they are still holding us back. Blaming others makes us feel better, but it’s only a temporary fix, it’s a deceitful good feeling. It doesn’t bring us peace. It doesn’t teach us anything good. It doesn’t change our situation. It doesn’t help us to be free. It actually keeps us trapped and makes us continually angry.

• Why is it difficult to examine our own thoughts and behaviors? Why is it easier to deny them or hide them?  
• Why is it easier to point out the faults and failures of others in our circle than to face our own? 
• Jesus doesn’t make me better than everyone else. He makes me better than myself. Do you agree? Why or why not? 
• Can conflict continue without your participation? 
• Is it reasonable to blame others for your well-being (or lack of it)? 
• I once heard an excuse defined as "a reason stuffed inside of a lie." Would you agree? If so, what are some excuses you need to give up?
