Pretty standard self-help advice
The problem with reading lots of self-help books is that after twenty years or so, they all start to sound alike. This one starts out well enough, but it pretty quickly turns out to be a rehash of the usual advice. Goal setting. Positive thinking. Continual improvement. That sort of thing.
The concept of the book is a little different, but the authors expect you to spend an hour on each chapter, and some chapters don't have enough meat in them for an hour's contemplation. Some better prompts might have helped. Some chapters have no reflection prompts at all.
My main complaint about this book is that in the end it just winds up being a collection of pithy advice and quotations but doesn't really deliver the promised life-changing benefits. There's just not enough depth to it for that. This book might be helpful to a young person who is new to all these concepts, but for those of us who've been pursuing continual improvement for many years, it's meh.
Five Stars
Really a good book with many sound suggestions. Would not be a waste
of time.
Thought provoking read
I would describe this book as questions that we need to ask ourselves at different different times in our life. Especially to refocus and regroup.
Disappointing
Sorry, but this book had nothing new to offer, nor any new or enticing way to offer the information. I did not finish reading the book because it did not hold my interest.
Five Stars
Very inspiring and motivational book!
I'll see if I can read it again in another year!
