The 4D4 Podcast episodes

  • A Wonderer's Mind

Banter: Magic items are a great time but also a huge point of discussion among a party. What do we got and what do we think. Samm brings up a movie Excalibur. Mikayla and one of her personal game dealt with not lightsabers. Kiyoshi has a wealth of thoughts brought to you by Dungeon Crawler Carl as well as another sword that Brandon Sanderson brought to life. Daniel mentions some originals such as a magic hat in Pathfinder or the Cloak of Billowing.

Gameplay: Z'adrah gets intermingled and intimate, with questions to ask as his own way to hopefully progress knowledge on the situation at hand. Verith sees things both in his sleep and awake. Zip, seemingly entranced, provides another layer to the creature's mystery.

With so many strings out in our world, our mighty GM reels us in to a focus as we start toward an academy of knowledge to get a smartly laid out info dump. From point A to point B, our adventurers come together in joshing, dancing around feelings, but still unified...for now.

  • A Coping System

Banter: Samm poses the question to the gang what do we all actually do, like for fun, that isn't a TTRPG? Not-so-shockingly, we all enjoy games, creativity, and ways to express ourselves!

Gameplay: Friends have been reunited. Information has been exchanged, some withheld, and future reveals planned out. The adventurers will finally leave the Old House Cauldrith to return again in 3 days. In the mean time, Zaddy, Verith, and Cael check-in to a new space and split. the. party.

A red light district in a way you wouldn't expect, some chit-chat to learn of past friends, and societal knowledge of the 90 years. A more in-depth view of our character's motivations, their concerns, and how we all cope with such a development.

  • Long Overdue

Banter: Samm runs the show today wondering what the others enjoy consume in media, such as books and TV shows, but do not enjoy as part of a role-playing game. To start we have mysteries and true crime that puts Samm off because of how hard it can get when one is already highly focused on the role-playing or game itself. Daniel enjoys, but doesn't think it translates to TTRPGs well when it comes to main characters always knowing what to do. Always having a solution can keep compromise at bay and not be as much fun. Kiyoshi is on the same thought process as Daniel. Having characters that are overpowered can take out the fun of playing. Mikayla is a heist person that seems to fall flat and create too difficult of a table (not to mention it can bother the GM when things get delayed from above table discussions).

Gameplay: We pick up right where we left off at the Copper Chimera. A drunk Zaddy, wondering Verith, and a now functional Cael. The party got some rooms and woke up the next day with a mission. Not only do our adventurers have to officially deliver the letter that had been carried for much too long but there is so much to learn in this decade. Old House Cauldrith is where we venture to first and remain for some time. A butler, a rightful heir, realizations brought to light, and someone from our past finds us once again.

  • A Blight Detour

Banter: In case you hadn't heard, we are all GMs and bringing those skills to the table when called upon. Maybe not without Daniel's role but we try our best. As GM's art tends to imitate art. We are inspired by what is around us, entertaining us, and sometimes it is hard to shoot from the hip in our private games. So what have we "borrowed" or used? Many references and flash backs later, you'll see sometimes our players are better at it than us.

Gameplay: We take a pause at the table. Our last episode's cliffhanger left a lot to discuss above table. Daniel gives us the space to do that as he also takes a pause to take our, and our character's, thoughts and feelings into consideration. After Caelig's overwhelming happenings, we find a place to stay using more tablet directions. Autonomy, an experiment, and a bottle from Urtan awaits but WHEN are we? What has happened our adventurers have missed?

  • Envoys of Alteration

Welcome Back to the 4d4 Podcast Season 2!!

Banter: Since we are getting back in the groove of it all, Daniel wants to make sure we start with a check-in to see if we are all still having a good time. We use the Stars and Wishes method to gauge the table.

Kiyoshi loves a good time skip, and a good pantheon. He wishes to pick up the threads we left behind, the "unfinished business" as he describes.

Mikayla also loves a good time skip. She is looking forward to see what has happened on Tavros. There was so much that happened during the ISS, the surface of this planet has her wishing to explore.

Samm, yet again, stars a time skip (like everyone else) but mostly because they do this to others as a GM and are getting a taste of their own medicine. It is exciting, engaging, and they wish to see what happens next in the zoomed in part of the story.

With so much anticipation, we almost skip Daniel. He stars the time skip since he has never done that before. He created a game, the ISS, and it built lore to the story we are paying. Time to enjoy the consequence of our actions.

Gameplay: Our GM opens with a historical blurb. Perspective given to recording the earthly time passing. Then our characters are brought back to the surface.

Water is everywhere. A shock to all but Verith, our resident swimmer. After we evaluate more of our surroundings, we gather ourselves just enough to make our way to a tower. A bell tolling 8 times in the distance. On the route to wherever we are, we see new things at every turn. Carts, soldiers, an entry gate, and many slates of stone. Caelig is worried to misstep with all that is new, Verith is ready to discover knowledge, and Z'adrah just wants to see the tower in the center of the city. From infirmaries to the icons, maps to old family seals, the journey has begun again.

  • Daggerheart Character Creation (Session 0)

Hello and Welcome to the 4D4 Podcast, Daggerheart Edition!

Our very own Mikayla is going to be our GM for this mini series while Daniel gets to be a player. This episode is all about our character creation. We learn a little about our own personal defaults when it comes to character creation, our play styles when choosing extra layers or weapons, how Daggerheart differs to other games we have played, and how this mini series setting will be built around us.

From names to our stats, our usual shenanigans to big think concepts, we bring you something new for us all! Enjoy and let us know what you think on our Discord or Instagram!

Daggerheart is a TTRPG that was created by Critical Role's Matt Mercer and Darrington Press LLC's Spenser Starke. If you want to also play this game or are interested to learn more, feel free to visit your local game store or https://www.daggerheart.com/ .

  • Interplanetary Society Simulator (Part 3)

Hello and welcome to still the 4D4 podcast!

Things are changing and changing fast! We left our adventurers and audience with a giant cliffhanger and our fancy GM has built the "Interplanetary Society Simulator", aka the ISS. This will help us play to see how time passes. Instead of a regular skip and a spoken summary, we are letting the dice and each of our story telling abilities guide us along the way.

Is Urtan ever going to be connected to the other planets again? How are the famines, floods, wars, and shared discoveries going to impact the world our characters experience when they return? Are our characters still alive? Where are the icons in this time?

This is part three of three ISS episodes.
