In our first episode, we introduced some of the big ideas of the Enneagram. The Enneagram is mostly used for personal self-knowledge and personality development, offering a powerful tool for better understanding your core motivations and applying that knowledge to all areas of your life, including conflict resolution, team dynamics, leadership and emotional intelligence.
In the previous episode, Christine and Jacob covered the 9 types of leadership. Today, Sonal and Jacob are focusing on the 9 types at work. We share insights about each types’ communication style, ideal work environment, and common professions and industries each type leans toward.
It’s important to note that the Enneagram is just a tool in the toolkit of transformation. We personally think it is exciting to see how many business leaders are turning to the Enneagram to learn more about their employees and how to best equip them for success. In an office setting, these insights can explain why some collaborators need more time to process information than others, or why some employees find it difficult to speak up. Co-workers who possess Enneagram knowledge understand each other’s intentions, which can go a long way in resolving conflict, or even preventing it, and supervisors can task employees in a way that sets them up for success.
