Food is an indispensable part of every celebration, both here in Taiwan and around the world. But what if you can’t find the foods to help you celebrate? In today’s program, we’re going to improvise... we’re calling it the “Taipei Thanksgiving Challenge!”
What's on the menu today? In our first course, we’re going to discuss some of the most iconic Thanksgiving dishes – things we’d like to see on our table this year. In our second course, Andrew heads out into Taipei on his trusty scooter with the challenge of finding made-to-order substitutes and throwing together a feast in less than an hour. And in our third and final course, we’ll be celebrating right here in the studio!
More about the challege: As part of today's challenge, Andrew agreed to avoid Western restaurants (that might provide a Thanksgiving set meal), and to search instead for substitutes that are easily available throughout the city. In the end, his journey produced ten different items, purchased at six different places. But how long did it take him? And were there any impossible-to-find dishes? Tune in to today's program to learn more about the Feast! For additional information, send an email to [email protected].
