Coming from a non-profit household, Aala was born in Sudan prior to immigrating to the United States and growing up in Chicago, Illinois. As the daughter of an economist, Aala grew up in a household where her father dedicated his life to caring for others. Due to this, Aala seeks to use media as a means of uplifting others through education and health.

As the creator of her self-entitled Aala Cleanse, Aala was able to heal herself of an autoimmune disease by learning more about the human body, ancient African herbs, and gut health.
